(Editor’s Note: This letter was originally sent by Mr. Eu Wing Kee to the
President of the Patrician Society , Mr. Yang Tuck Meng in July 2004.
Mr. Eu Wing Kee did his senior Cambridge exams in St. Patrick’s school in 1948. In
1949 he returned to teach in the school. Mr. Eu was promoted to senior assistant
in 1968 and continued teaching until 1988, when he eventually retired. The
Patrician Society would like to thank Mr Eu for giving us permission to print
this letter)
It makes me proud to know that the Patrician society is alive and concerned for
the welfare of the welfare of those who have served the school. It is nice that
old boys of the alumni would pay tribute to Bro.William . He was true Patrician
brother, having stayed with the community for several decades.
Bro.William always had a smile for everyone young and old. Besides a
cathecist for many years, he was the “ Scribe” for the St.Patrick’s community
looking after their funds with great diligence and care.. He was a man with a
great sense of humour, never uttering harsh words to anyone. In his own way he
influenced great many former students by his honesty, simplicity and humanity.
St Patrick’s has lost a remarkable man. May he rest in peace.
Finally I wish to congratulate the Patrician Society for showing that
former pupils of St. Pats remember their roots and display great respect to
their mentors.
Potest Qui Vult
Sincerely
Eu Wing Kee - a life member
